Hi, been planning on getting an MP3 player for a while now but have never got round to making the jump. Been using a 128mb flash mp3 i've borrowed from my GF.

So looking to spend around £150 (less = better)
4gb+ storage (more the better)
Fairly stylish but not majorly important (don't want a brick, lol)
And finally one of the things i want to use it for is an external hard drive being about to drag and drop files onto it without software/ap would be very useful.

Thanks :)

ok, i too wish to buy a much cheeper mp3 player, i'm talking a budget less than that of a full body wax (£50) and i thought i'd add to this thred saves starting a new one

i dont care about drive space, if it took some sort of upgradable memory that's be even better, as i could have it now then upgrade later

do you get MP3 players that can plug direct into a USB without a cable (very handy) and acted like a flash drive ?

resonable sound quality, i'm not asking for the dogs danglies, just something cheep and cherfull that isn't a gay-pod or a gay-pod nano

For £150 i have to say the Iriver H10, i love mine. Dead easy to use and lovely sound quality. Obviously im biased as i have one though, but its been perfecr for everything ive used it for. Only drawback being it hasnt got a FM radio.

Solouko, yes, you can get mp3 players usually up to the size of 1GB that are just like a USB stick and they just plug direct into your PC with no wires or anything. Have a look HERE for a few sold at OcUK. They show up as a drive and you just drag and drop just like a regular USB pen drive. A warning though, they only usually give about 5-6 hour per battery, so make sure you have spares or buy rechargables.

wow.. those look great, but what batterys do they take? if its AAA or AA then i can just get some stupidly expencive rechargable ones that have 2500mAh of life

Getting really tempted by the samsung. Looks really good and aint too bad for the price (seen it for £170 that about right?).

How exactly do you use it? ie change tracks, control menu etc.

Anything else i should know about it?

ta :)

The "pure" H10 does have a FM radio. Mine hasnt got it either , but i didnt buy it for the radio, altho it would have been good to record from it. :)

Trust me, i bought the pure thnking it did have one, as it did says it had one on the OcUK site, and it hasnt. Ive got a '5GB PURE' and i have the recording feature and the mic, but no radio :(

You can probably get an addon tuner for it, but ive never looked for one.

Looking HERE pretty much confirms my thoughts. The 5GB doesnt and the 6GB and 20GB ones do, although an additional unit may be available.

Well i bought mine from the well know catalogue store . I was working at the store where i bought mine and had a good look before i bought it and im sure i remember seeing a radio on the one i was looking at(obviously not the one i got) & that was the 5gig version aswell
