MP3 Player; Lets cast a vote!

Think ive found my perfect set up now ,the sound is mind blowing ,very airy spacious soundstage ,pristine highs and low but controlled bass ,taken a lot of swaps to find this synergy
player sflo2 (dual wolfson dacs)
ibasso flat silver cable
neco soundlabs amp with the twin single ad8610 upgrade
ultrasone hfi780 cans :)

I tried my s:flo2 with an ALO Rx and my SM3's and didn't detect any real improvement with an amp and had the same opinion with my X1060, hence me selling the amp on after a couple of weeks.

sansa clip plus owned a sansa clip and the plus neither have ever frozen

sansa clip plus 8gb is the one to go for then add a micro sd if you want more space.

Headphones I'd get something like head direct or jaben one of the e5 amp bundles.

or goldring ns1000 indeed if you don't mind the look in public.

yes , afew others dont think its improves with some amps ,im wondering if its the dual mono amps with the sflo having the twin dacs ,but i do feel ive come to the point now where its about the music ,for a long time its been about finding the right sound and synergy ie hfi780s can be bright ,i think the neco tames this but at the same time dosnt roll off the highs just cleans them up. theres also a jump in soundstage size and better imaging and better extending bass i think
one big bonus as well is that like ibassos can roll the opamps if i do get the itch again

If you want sound quality, don't get an iPod

+1, I used my iPhone because it was easy but decided to get a stand alone player (and subsequently went for the Clip+ due to size), the difference is just astounding! My iPhone only gets used for music when I'm off to the bar, otherwise it wouldn't get used at all anymore.

Bought myself a SanDisk Clip+ due to the feedback in this thread and I am very please with it.

Quick tip for anyone who has bought one: When selecting your region, make sure to select anything except Europe.

If you select Europe there is a limitation on the volume. Selecting another region allows you to set the volume from 'Normal' to 'High' in the otherwise hidden option.

I don't like my music loud, but even I thought it was too quiet on maximum volume before I changed the region setting.

[Edit: Just realised this has been mentioned higher up the thread...]

You might also want to give Rockbox a go, I use it on my Clip+ and there are a lot more options open to you. Only issue is seeing as it's an 'unstable' version there is no easy installer, it's not overly complicated and by unstable they simply mean not all the features are available (actually, just USB is missing, you'll need to reboot to connect to the PC).
