ok this is really annoying me, i want a new mp3 player, of a decent size, video playback and not a brick!

i'm tempted by the ipod classic 80gb but i just hate itunes, i was looking at the new zune but it still looks pretty big.

any other suggestions of decent ones around atm that arn't bricks and look alright

EDIT: i think i remember seeing a programme that let you use wmp for your ipod instead of itunes, is this true and anyone got a link?
 
I got the New zune (80gb one) for xmas, and i must say, its rather small imo. Same size as the ipod only much bigger screen and no Itunes :D

Got myself a Zune 80gb yesterday and it is proper sexy.

Love it loads.

Softwre is really easy to use. Basically Sync the folders you want to get music/videos/pictures from with the software, choose what you want and then drag and drop it.


The player itself though is awesome. Sound is great, its feels really nice.

Video playback is superb.


Very very glad I got it over an Ipod Classic.

Their is the Archos 605 30gb or 60gb. brilliant players, my cousing bought the 2gb cersion with a 16gb flash card and picture quality is brilliant at 480.

Its not as if its going to be bulging out of your pocket or anything.


80Gb Ipod Classic weighs in at 140 grams where as the Zune is only 128 grams.

Mega light. :)

Just to add to the comparison:

I raise you 12g of weigh to 10 hours more battery life~

Zune 80GB = 20Hrs
iPod Class 80GB = 30Hrs :)
 
Having to use iTunes to manage playlists larger than 5000 is virtually impossible, Zune wins me over there, WMP, which Zune software is based upon, manages fine. Would rather use Foobar either way, but hey, compromizes are needed.

Bigger screen on the Zune too. Nicer interface, easier to look through masses of tracks imo.

Sound quality is better as well, when running through good headphones. A mate has a Zune 80 and on my 'phones it kills the Classic 80gb he used to have. Very noticable difference.

If only either one supported FLAC : (
