Try Tag 'n' Rename..... It will only rename them however if the information of the song (artist, track name, number) is stored in the tag... Alternatively it can get the tag information from the file name.
I use musicbrainz Picard mostly (http://musicbrainz.org/doc/PicardTagger) it analyses the music data, tries to match the song in its online database and then tag/renames it. Works very well for the majority of stuff.
If Picard doesn't recognise it, I use The Godfather. The interface can be a bit confusing at first but it's quite powerful once you get used to it.
Windows Media Player will rename music, re-organise etc all for you, and can get the info to fill in blanks from the old t'interweb thingy I have been going through my system doing it. Try http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ to get the music info from Amazon etc as well. I have 2 folders of music at the mo, sorted and unsorted, run mp3tag on the unsorted stuff, move it into sorted and let Media Player do the rest
