Just discovered this and works brilliantly! Thought I would share.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed here already, but Casimir and XXL and few others over at Doom9 have made a MPC-HomeCinema build which includes h.264 and VC-1 decoders from FFMPEG and they support DXVA bitstream decoding. That means you can get DXVA decoding without PowerDVD decoder and with any Geforce VP2 or ATI UVD engine. VP1 and old ATI's are not supported yet, because they don't support bitstream DXVA, only Motion Compensation. Tried it and it works, so no need for PowerDVD anymore for DXVA! The last build is RC2, so it should be on Sourceforge pretty soon. Also it has decoder for DivX/Xvid, Theora, SVQ3 / 1 and others. So you pretty much don't need anything but the MPC-HC for any AVC, VC-1, Xvid with AC3, DTS, AAC in AVI, MKV, MP4 - pretty cool! Also you can use the mpcvideodec.ax in any Dshow player (BSplayer, ZoomPlayer) when you register it and you still have DXVA decoding.
