MPEG4 Compression Ratio

Hi all,

Does anyone know the compression ratio of MPEG4? I can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere.

The bitrate is defined by the encoder.

?! Sorry I know nothing about these standards or encoding.

It's variable, and up to you whether to choose bitrate. ie Quality 1 - Quality 10, 10 being highest but largest file.

Same principle as MP3's, but the bitrate is just for video. Of course you can also have your own lossy mp3 audio track in the avi file too, stereo or multi-channel.
