Hi guys, i've just downloaded a episode of lost from the itunes store but i want to play it in media player rather than itunes or quicktime as i can only seem to get surround sound in media player.

However media player doesn't recognise the mpeg4 format, what codec do i need to play these files?

Thanks

erm scuse my ignorance, now what?

I've downloaded ffdshow and installed, however file will still refuse to play in media player, do i need to change anything within media player?

hmm usually it should work. Are you sure it's mpeg-4? Open gspot and post a picture here what the audio/video container is.

Itunes is infested with drm. The video will be encrypted and unfortunatley there isn't anything you can do to get it to play in wmp short of re-recording it. In the future you should buy videos in the wmv format because you can strip the encryption effortlessly.
