MPEG4 not playing on my PS3!!!

Anyone else been having this problem lately?

I have tried using 'PS3 Video 9' and 'PS3 Video Converter 3' to convert avi to play on the PS3 but whenever I do it lately it plays back fine on my PC but says unsupported file on the PS3!!!

What file extension have you got the files in?

It only supports the main profile of mpeg4 sp/avc if it's not using those constraints it won't play.

but the software I use is supposed to convert it to a playable format on the PS3.... I just dont get it!
