One thing I dislike about the mondeos (apart from the shape) is that display, it just looks a bit like an old casio watch. Does it light up when you have the lights on?

I only ever cruised in it one time and I did get 35mpg, the rest of the time it was sub 20mpg :D

So if I'm comparing like for like the Elise is way ahead already. On a run it apparently gets 42mpg which I won't complain about!
I got ~35MPG out of my S1 driving it fast down to Goodwood and back on Sunday :D

Personally I dont care what it looks like, I just want one. What model ranges of the mondeo have that computer, Ghia and Ghia X, Zetec etc? Thinking about getting one and now I want the computer too. :D

Ghia/Ghia X it is then. Also I suppose I do care what the dashboard looks like, but I guess I don't find that offensive enough to not want it. Bland is ok, Citroen Xsara is offensive. :p

I'm chuffed that I can get into the 20's, if I could get 35 or more I'd be over the moon. Not cos I'd save money but cos I wouldn't have to fill up as often, I hate putting petrol in.

Remember most of the Ghia's are not worth bothering with - before the revisions in late 99 they only had AC, CD, 4x electric windows, PAS, remote locking etc.

Revisions added the trip comp, cruise, basically nearly everything the Ghia X had bar heated leather, a sunroof and climate control.

I averaged 48mpg from the last tank, caning it everywhere (mostly on dartmoor with matteh+fox) (including some >100 stints on the motorway) :D

1.8td Fiesta

1.8td Fiesta

And on that same trip I got 26mpg :p

My Fabia vRS went in for a service today. Driving normally in rush hour motorway traffic got 67.3 Mpg on the way to the dealer. On the way back in their loaner Fabia 1.2 I got 29.7mpg in similar traffic. Engine sounds nice, but it was achingly sssllloooww.

had a 2.5 litre vauxhall omega cdx a couple of years back.
if the computer was to be trusted, it was most economical under cruise control at 90!

can't remember what the figure would have been though, not a lot i guess :D
