MPs - the List of Shame

[TW]Fox said:
Actually this was on Radio 4 the other day - two MP's arguing the case - one for the exemption, one against it.

It actually made a lot of sense that it shouldnt apply to certain things MP's do - some people go to their MP in confidence, and probably wouldn't if they knew their details could be released to a third party - for example, when making complaints about certain neighbours, that sort of thing.

I'm pretty sure that the Data Protection Act already covers this situation to make sure names of third parties are not released.
MPs only wanted new legislation if they've got something to hide.
This article is a bit out of date, but shows *** they can get up to.

Some examples :-

Siobhain McDonagh, of Mitcham and Mordern, spent more than £40,000 on paper and postage to write to her constituents.
MPs are meant to produce receipts for bills of more than £250 and publication of detailed figures follows a series of disputes over expenses claims, culminating in £90,000 repaid by Michael Trend, Conservative MP for Windsor, for a London home he did not possess. Mr Trend is to stand down at the election.
