as search is dead i will have to start a new thread;

Wife up duff again (i know!) and so need a new car as ours cant fit 3 car seats in the back or a person between them for more than 10 minutes.

Looked at a lot of cars and decided;

Zaf - Okay but would have to use on of he boot seats and so loose a lot of space
Galaxy - Wife says bit long but does everything
807 - A cheap galaxy

So is there any reason i should realistically spend an extra £2k on a simular galaxy -vs- 807, incase needed annual mileage is upto 14k now.
 
Multipla, would easily take 3 in the back, as each seat is seperate full size ones.
 
What budget are you talking here, and what age of Galaxy? If you are meaning the old shape, take a look at the SEAT alhambra (its the exact same car) and see if prices are any different.

If you are meaning the new shape, I'd rather have an S-max

I'll have to have a look at the Sax/Multipla

The seat is the roughly the same price from a glance byut will have a better look at the weekend.
 
I'd go and take your seats down to the garages and check (he did!)..

Most of the midi MPV's (Zafira/Grand Scenic/Touran) can fit 2 booster and 1 baby seat accross the rear seats

My brother can fit 2 kids and 1 baby seat in the back of his Zafira VXR, it's got more interior width then his M5.

The larger MPV's are generally a fraction wider, the s-max is actually an absolute behemoth in width/length if you need the extra room.. and my pick of the larger MPV's..

But remember that the larger MPV's are heavier and this shows in performance and fuel consumption..

As someone mentioned, the Multipla will easily accomodate 3 massive seats accross it's rear bench, and it's love it or hate it (I hate it's looks)

I was going to get the all in to check they fitted when my wife has a test drive

mpg isnt too much of an issue as currently 1.8auto vectra does 25mpg :(
 
Citroen Xsara Picasso is very wide for a 5 seat MPV. We've got 3 adults in the back no problem. And after having 2 full size car seats in there, i know we could have fit 3 easily.

Thats if you can stand them being as common as muck. I once was in a convoy of them, with 3 other picasso. No other car have i ever seen 4 of them all in a line like that. However they're popular for a reason. They're cheap, reliable and practical.

Ignore them myth about "all french cars are unreliable". Which magazine did a survey of its owners, and the Picasso scored very well for reliability scoring 2nd overall. In the JD Power survery for What car ? it came joint top for reliability. The renault scenic, on the other hand is no exception to the "all french cars are unreliable" theory, scoring badly in both.

However the Fiat Multipla (if you can stand the looks) or the Honda FRV are both 6 seaters with 3 good seats up front, and the same at the back. They may be worth a look.

oh and if you do decide to look at galaxy / 807 i cant comment much, neither the what car survery or the which magazine survery list the peugeot 807 in it for some reason.
 
The mazda 5 is a very nice MPV 7 seats, sliding passenger doors at the rear. They start at £14k. Had the Sport version in the USA and its fantastic, great fuel economy too.
 
Nissan Tino? Has 3 full size seats in the back.

A guy in work has one and I was pleasantly surprised by it! He uses it for biking etc.
