sad sad news, i am genuinely gutted.

You lived long and you prospered Mr Spock, forever immortalised in a legacy that brought entertainment to generations and a message to a era that needed it.

May you truly rest in peace.

RIP Mr Nimoy, one of the small screen greats of the 60's.

It seems there aren't many of the actors whose work I enjoyed as I was growing up who are still around

I think of the original Trek regular cast that only leaves Kirk, Uhura, Sulu and Checkov, and Shatner is getting on.

Indeed, it is a list that saddens me deeply as it gets longer.

Very sad to hear this news tonight. Watching Star Trek in the 70's got me into Sci-fi in a big way so it's been a massive part of my life. One by one my childhood heroes are passing away, I suddenly don't feel as invincible as I did when I was 20. RIP mate.
