Mr2 turbo problems...

Thanks for the replies...

About the lean fuel starvation , if this is the case why is it using so much fuel and with a high idle 950-1000rpm hot , low idle 1100 cold!

The timing was done not so long ago , 3 months we did it ourselfs with a timing gun.

Yes its running 98+ has and always will be , i've had the car for ni on 5years.

MBC no it has an EBC (blitz) 15Gain 52Ratio... The read out was showing 1.11 kg/cm2 = 15.7psi at the time which is just under 1.1. I did turn that down to eliminate the possible cause and it still did it.

I'd vote boost leak. Easiest way to check is to pressurise the whole inlet side. I.e block it off at turbo and inlet plenum, and then any idle take off's etc. Then find somewhere to attach a bike tyre pump and get pumping, Use washing up liquid / water to help.

boost leak or fuel pump i suspect

Cover your hoses in soapy water and check for bubbles for boost leak

fuel pump, well you need to get a know working one to test it, make sure the wiring hasn't correded too

I replaced all my boost controller tubing in the car even underneath , reset the boost controller . Did a drive test and ended up with 18 Gain , 46 Ratio for 14psi went much further than i did the other day and drove the car harder... No problems , no hesitations and bad running :D
