MS Access ODBC link to web based SQL db

I have a SQL database running on my hosted web space. Does anyone know if it's possible to link the SQL tables from the web DB into a locally run MS Access database? If yes what syntax do you use for the server name when creating the ODBC connection?

Up until now I've been exporting the SQL data, and then importing to the Access DB. It'd be far easier if I could directly feed the MS Access database from the SQL one, thus the query. Thanks.

Web-hosted MySQL, or MSSQL?

Firstly, configure your server, or ask your host to allow db connections from your home IP (this is not allowed by default).

After that, you can find the odbc driver here, along with the documentation. The FAQ should have you covered
