MS support - useless

Forgive the long whine, but I need to get this off my chest & the missus is sick of hearing about it.

Short version of the back story is, on the 19th of last month my girlfriend has her younger brother over one night whilst I'm out. He uses my PC & gets a keylogger from a dodgy `free MS points` site on to my PC. Unknowningly I log on to xbox.com & give some scrote the details to my gamertag. Whoever it is recovers my GT the next day & buys fifa 11 UT packs with all my MS points. I obviously call up MS support as soon as I realise whats going on & report it. They tell me its going to take 2-3 weeks to get my account back etc. Not exactly jumping for joy at it taking so long, but if thats their procedure so be it.

If only things were that simple. I wait out the 3 weeks & hear nothing, so I give xbox support a call. They sent out the recovery email to the email address I specified on the 31st so I'm told. I check again, check the junk folder etc, nothing. I read out the email address I gave them, so they can check they sent it to the correct address. Bingo, they mis-typed it. I ask them to send it again, but to the correct address this time & am informed the normal support guys can't do that only the top level ones can. They raise a ticket on my account & tell me its going to be 3-4 days & I'll get the email.

So today, 4 days later & no email. So I call them up again, give them my ref number etc. Yes he can see the problem I had, yes I should have received the email by today. He adds a note to my account so one of the top level tech guys will give me a call back by 9pm tonight & let me know whats going on etc.

9.30pm comes & no phone call, so I call them. Go through all the security checks again etc. Yes he can see whats happening with my account, yes I should have got a call back etc. he tells me that even if I don't get a call back I will receive my reactivation email within the next 2 days probably. When I try to get something more concrete out of him, he actually makes it worse & tells me it could take upto another 3 weeks, as they may have to hold an investigation as to why it was sent to the wrong email address.

At this point I just loose it tbh. I should have had my account back on the 31st, so I'm currently sat on 13 days without my account because some one can't copy & paste an email address. Now I may have to wait upto another 3 weeks before I get it back!!!! I have a bit of a rant at the poor guy & then ask if my live sub is paused during this time, as its their mistake & why should I pay for it. He's not sure, but he can put in a request for one of the top level guys to give me a call back about that.

Totally frustrated & begining to see the signs of going round in circles with him I just put the phone down. I've potentially lost a month of my live sub because of MS mistake & I'm stuck in gaming limbo of no arcade games, no game saves & no DLC.

Tried talking to xbox support via twitter as well & the most helpful thing they said was `call your local xbox support line`, which was no help at all.

I was just over half way through a playthrough of ME1 when I lost my account too, so I'm at a loss on things to play tbh. Only other games I've been playing recently have been rockband 3, homefront (i know its rubbish) & mortal kombat. RB3 feels empty without all my dlc & the other two both have online passes, so I'm stuck to single player only.

Thanks for reading if you made it this far, I could do with some inspiration on games to keep me busy tbh

TLDR my girlfriends brother is due a slap, xbox support are totally useless & spec me a game to play please

grab a copy of witcher 2 on your pc and forget about it all :D
if you are insitant on buying something for your 360 you could give LA noir a whirl, Dirt 3 is also out, Portal 2 if you havent done it yet

They spent nearly 2000 MS points I had on my account. If I'd just reset my liveID etc I would have lost them. By doing it through MS support I will get the MS points back.

tbh, wish I hadn't bothered contacting them now & had just written off the points
