MS Word & Excel 2013 locking entire computer.

I have an issue with Word & Excel 2013 locking my entire Windows 7 computer. This installation has been working fine for over 3 years, however recently there was either a Word or Office update that I can only assume has caused this. I have noticed this problem over the last 2 weeks.

When this occurs I not only loose the document i'm working on, but Windows Explorer and Chrome also crash requiring a hard reset.

Has anyone experience similar and know how to resolve? I'm pretty certain it's a Windows/Office Update that has been installed recently.

Go through the Windows update history and uninstall all updates that have been installed within the past two weeks. Give it a month and then reinstall all updates to see if Microsoft have fixed the issue in the interim. It's a lazy way to try and get rid of the problem, but saves the hassle of trying to figure out what the offending update is.

Hi, I may have todo this. a lot of updates going on.

Is it just me, but since Windows 10 has been released it seams Windows 7 has been having issues. I know they moved some of the security features from Win 10 to Win 7.
