am i right in saying its a smaller version of a sata ssd...and just pops into your motherboard....and can it be used to install your operating system on...and is it gonna be the future or another gimmick.

I thought it was a new slot in the motherboard for SSD caching.

thanks for that shine....so there basically to make ie laptops and thinkpads/tablets smaller and faster with the ssd in a smaller version?
