Hi

I have just purchased a 7900GTO for £60 as these new cards are a bit steep for me (8800GT/ 3800 series)!

Anyway, I read you can overclock the 7900GTO to GTX speeds and more but the memory is much lower than the GTX so how? Would not the memory fry?!

Anyone had an experience with overclocking these cards, particularly the MSI one?

Get Rivatuner or ATITool and give it a try.
Mine easily overclocks to GTX figures but not much more. I only run it at stock these days though and it's more than capable for the little gaming I do.

Thanks all.

Have you gone up to 1600mhz on memory then?

Great cards and overclock very well. Had mine at 720/830 on stock cooling. Scored over 7000 3Dmarks on 06 with a E6300 @ 3.3Ghz.

I used Power Strip to clock the card.

I flashed my MSI 7900GTO with the MSI GTX BIOS the ram on it went bad after about three months.

My mate done his at the same time and his is still running fine today.

hit and miss i think.
