MSI 7900GTO Mem Clock Speeds in here! (database)

Switched from coolbits to ATI tool and found my max mem to be around 850Mhz, not bad at all :) Going to flash to 680/850 with nibitor and test it out :)

How's everyone doing? I'm doing 710/820 at the moment, but i've only just started testing it as 700/810 ran without hiccup playing BF2142, FEAR and looping 3D'06 for almost a day. :)

I have been running 700/800 (800 is max on CB slider) for about a week now.
I have just got the latest ATItool and been playing.

Although I can clock the memory upto 850 if i leave the artifact scanner running, it will pick up an error after about 8-10mins.

Max I have found to be totaly error free is 714/806.

(MSI GTO)

Went straight to 700/800 (Coolbits) when I got it. Flashed with a GTX BIOS and went upto 710/830 rock solid

I'm now dying to Vmod the card :D

Coolbits only lets you overclock by 20% which is why when I flashed mine with a GTX BIOS it now lets me push the Vmem upto 960MHz (shame it won't run at that though)

Single card, stock cooling and volts (for the time being), coolbits and GTX BIOS.

Can't help but put a 3DMark06 screenie in...

Rock ON!! :D

Well guys I think theres either something up with my GTO or the motherboard is just not up to it. (Asrock DualVSTA).

Basically, one minute I can select 700 and it'll stay there and pass the test fine, the next minute it'll fail and revert back to 650. Tempted to try the GTX bios but wondering if I should just wait to see what I get on a new motherboard when I can afford it.

I was told the GTX bios slackens the memory timings, thats why they can scal higher.

the GTX also has a higher Vmem settings then the GTO.
These have got be the best card for the money ATM.

My 06 score at 714/806 :D

Does anyone know how to use Nvflash in windows? I don't have a floppy drive so need to flash my GTO in windows instead (I want to try out some 7900GTX bioses).

Will it not work from a command prompt?

Also, nice score Its_Me. Tried the conroe any higher yet?

yes but its not stable.
P5B only lets me have 1.51v under load & 2.03v Vdimm :( so im kinda stuck here.

waiting for prices to drop then going for 1 new SLi board :)

Sounds to me like you're right on the cusp.

Try 685 and see if thats stable. Try rthdribl_1_2 (ggogle it) for 20 mins. Then try 690 etc.

Maybe so but when I was using the GTO bios and rivatuner I was able to run at 830 mem stable.

Now using the GTX bios and just coolbits I can still run at 830. No more or less.

K,, well that opens up the options for future.

it seesm that >2.0Vdimm cuases problems, but a little boost to around 1.95v is giving some results to memory overclocks.

My card runs so cool though, core could probably have a little volt boost.

You and I are obviously thinking exactly the same.

I was thinking of a little boost to 1.95-2v and +10-15% on vcore (forgotten what stock is)

I've heard of one guy though and he's only getting an extra 15MHz on the core for modding it which sounds a little dissappointing.

I'd love to know what people are getting when volting these?

Whats this 800mhz memory I thought the memory on these cards were 1300+ mhz. I'm clearly not understanding something.
DDR mate, 800 is in MHz, 1600 is DDR, double-data rate. Emphasis on the double. :)

I installed coolbits but I can't overclock the card an inch with out it failing the test. I can't even get my core past 680 or the memory to 700. Man it's anoying.

Luck of the draw mate, suffice to say the actual real-time performance increase from 650/750 to 700/800 on the 7900GTO is only a matter of <5FPS, so it's not like your missing out. If it were a case of being 5-10FPS short of a playable framerate, i'd venture off and get SLi. At least that's what i'm doing as you know from another post of mine elsewhere.
