Had a bit of a mishap last night, accidentally pressed the clear cmos button whilst trying to blindly plug in a USB cable.

I had to remove the GPU and one dimm to get it to power back up but its working again now but I lost my old bios settings.

I’m not sure about two of them, CPU game boost & X3D gaming mode. By default they are set to OFF/Disabled but I tried turning them on and
my 9800X3D was showing as 8 cores and 8 threads.

Google AI says that I should turn them back off again which I did and the cpu is now 8 cores and 16 threads which will help my video encoding.

What’s everyone else’s thoughts on these two settings?

X3D gaming is for dual CCD chips where one CCD have the x3D cache and the other doesn’t. That way, for games, you would prioritise the X3D CCD. The 9800x3d is single CCD, leave off.
CPU game boost is likely auto over lock from the motherboard. They may allow extra power, less conservative limits, but in general add little gain at the expense of extra power and more heat. Too generic “overclock”, you can easily achieve better if you really want overclock.
