After my nerve racking disassembly of the GE62

I was wondering if it was possible to remove the DVD drive(cant remember the last time I used a DVD drive) and slapped one of these in?

I have a spare Seagate SSHD 500g that i was thinking of chucking into it.

I have 3 PCI ssd's and the 1 TB that comes with it so the extra space for my itunes collection would be nice.

I see no reason why it would not work. I have something similar in one of my machines and it works perfect.

Derailing your thread bro.

Wanting to get either a GE62 or GE72 myself (probably GE72 since same price) so what is your opinion on it so far? Any issues? How's the cooling/temps? Hard to get an estimate from people about this that live near me (Aberdeen is close).

I love it, Ive stuck 2 256 PCI Sata SSD's in there raid 0. 970m is lovely

I thought about a 17inch but carrying it around all the time, i decided on the 15.6

the screen is a thing of beauty.

i upgraded the ram as well, Im well impressed with it. Temps are fine and if you look on msi forums you can find a utility to tweak the fan speeds etc.

just getting used to 8.1 since ive only been using win7 , might give 10 a whirl when it comes out.

so far really happy with it.

Also tip for 8.1, install Classic Shell.

Usb3 is handled by the Intel chipset I would guess,

As for the caddy I got it working fine now have a spare 500gb in there
