Hi... i have an MSI GL66 with a single M.2 ssd. i want to add a second ssd to it. is it just as simple as fitting one i want and formatting the drive or am i missing somthing?
Are you sure you have the GL66 model that has two M.2 slots? If you do, then you're pretty close in what's needed. You use Disk Manager to create a partition on the new drive then format it and assign a drive letter.
Hi... pretty sure it the same motherboard for all three gl66”s I was told this and it says in the Mai website that it is too. So, it should have a spare slot.... why would I need to partition a second drive? .
The drive has to have one partition so this must be created before it can be formatted. It will probably also need initialising before that but Disk Manager will tell if it's necessary.
