MSI GPU RMA query

Going to have to RMA my MSI 390X with OCUK later today/tomorrow, due to a faulty display port connection.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of how long it takes to get a replacement on average?

I assume the procedure is that I send the card back to OCUK, they test and confirm the issue, then they send it back to MSI, who then issue a replacement card?

Am I likely to get a refurbished/repaired card as a replacement, or a brand new one?

The card I'm returning is of course in mint condition with all it's accessories, including the box etc.

Many thanks, just wanna know what to expect :)

i would have thought it would be a replacement new card.

have you posted in the customer service section as they can then give you a better RMA time scale?

I'm hoping for a replacement new card also. I've posted in the CS section yea, just wanted to see if anyone had a recent RMA experience with an MSI graphics card etc.

Card was bought in July last year, so still under warranty etc.

My MSI motherboard RMAs have always taken 28 days before I heard anything back. The 2nd time they could repair or replace so refunded me about 40% of the original cost of the item. I was not happy.

I sent my 290 back to OcUK about 6 months ago. They tested it and arranged for a replacement from MSI very quickly. Nearly 4 weeks later there was no ETA for a replacement from MSI so Bailey sorted me out with a card from stock.

OcUK get a thumbs up, MSI ... not so much.

The manufacturers with a better RMA process cost most, so you pays your price and makes your choice. That said was my first faulty GPU a PC in 20 years.

Oh dear, doesn't sound like great experiences to be had with MSI. I'll update this thread or make a new one so others know what an MSI RMA is like.

If only EVGA made AMD GPU's...... That being said, my next GPU is extremely like to be Pascal, so I'll be jumping on the EVGA bandwagon for sure. Read many great reports about the great RMA procedure.
