hi guys,
So I have a MSI GV72 7RE laptop as a secondary comp.
It has a 7700k hq (4 core+4HT) and a 1050ti.
It performs pretty ok for what it is, but it keeps dropping frames in games-Far Cry 5, BF1 etc.
Now I know its only a 1050ti etc, but it performs fine for the majority of the time 60fps+ on medium 1080p but will drop to like 20fps momentarily.
This can happen with nothing happening staring at a wall etc.
I think I have correlated it to the 7700k HQ dropping utilisation. Normally its almost maxed out but when frames drop in task manager there is a massive dip in cpu utilisation. Replicable.
Any ideas why this is?
Its on high performance power mode.
Its got latest nvidia drivers (though the problem is with the cpu I am pretty sure).
All windows updates.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
EDIT: forgot to say temps seem fine-70c max for cpu so dont think is thermal throttling...
