When under load the voltage drops from about 1.26 to 1.18V, if you watch the line in GPUz you can see its up and down under load and constantly under the set voltage. I can upload a photo later when I'm at home.
I have had this with 2 nvidia cards and now this, so I'm guessing its probably motherboard or PSU? Does the PSU just supply the 12V?
I have a GA-970A-DS3 rev 1 (F7a firmware which is the latest), fx6300, XFX850W pro PSU.
So any ideas?
I wouldnt mind getting a new motherboard but if they change it for steamroller, seems a bit of a waste, I would like intel but then its new motherboard and cpu in one go.

Have you set the power limit to +20%? Use an overlay and check the core is not throttling while under load.

Yeah I did set it to 20%. I will do a GPUz screenshot later if that will help at all?

Here it is. AB is set to 1256 mV

Although it doesnt look to bad on this occasion, typical hey

vdroop

theres also different voltages/core/memory clocks for each load situation, web browsing/watching video/gaming and idle mode, they switch automatically which is normal

to see true vdroop you have to fully stress the gpu

You can see it better in this one running heaven 4, the VDDC is quite low compared to what it should be (1.178 instead of 1.256) which I'm guessing is Vdroop, is that a normal amount?

not sure tbh,i'd need to look at my 7970 to compare when I get a chance

aslong as everything is stable then vdroop doesn't matter

Ok that would be great if you could thanks :)
I will see how it goes only put it in yesterday\

actually I think mine only drops a little

I set 1.68v and it drops to around 1.55v but ill double check

to make sure click the vddc voltage box till it says max, then play some games and see what the max usuage is

then compare it to what you set in msi afterburner

OK will try it later thanks :)
The highest I can set it to is 1.3V in afterburner and it defaults to 1.256V

You using LN2 for that 1.68v?
