Hi there

Anyone using this MSI PSU? I am looking for a cheap reliable PSU for a basic office AM5 system. I also want to know how quiet the fan is as it doesnt have a zero RPM mode.

Only using on board gpu.

It says that the fan doesn't ramp up until the load reaches 400 Watts. I seriously doubt an AM5 rig with onboard GFX will consume even a Quarter of that. I have a similar office rig with a 550 superflower, it has a semi passive mode and it doesn't come on, not even when I do the odd encoding and the CPU is on full load. It would be worth a punt for that spec.

While the review of the PSU is very positive about the fan selection, on SPL's tier list it notes that these PSUs use variable components. I don't know what that means in reality, but a bait and switch would be very disappointing in confirmed.

For £40 there's nothing better imo and with a 5 year warranty its better than most.

The 650w is also solid for £50.
