MSI VR Ready Notebooks

Does anyone think that 3-5 hours is unlikely on battery saver mode on say 30% brightness? Just for note taking in university.

Hi Guys

I will give you all an update on the pre order stock tomorrow

Thanks

Hi Loki thank you for your previous reply in regards to battery saying that your GS40 lasts ample time for what i would need this laptop to last for.

The spec sheet shows the GS63VR as having a "Battery: 9-Cell" wheras the GS40 is listed as having a "61 Wh"

What is the Wh on the GS63VR? i have searched high and low and had no luck, i have even contacted MSI directly and not had a response... its almost like you guys are banned from saying it?

This is a HUGE deal for me and many other people, far more important than the rgb keyboard that gets so much attention on the specs page.

I'm quite interested in the GT62VR but wouldn't mind official confirmation on G-Sync before ordering.

I know it sounds minor, but after using a G-Sync monitor with my desktop for the last 6 months, I'm not sure I could go back.

I've seen reviews saying the GT62VR has G-Sync, but no official note of this in the tech spec on OCUK or MSI website.

Hi Loki.
Well done on your lineup. You're killing it compared to the competition of 10xx series laptops currently.

As the 1070 is more power efficient than the series before it, is there any chance you will be releasing a stealth with a 1070? Or does the component size still matter greatly?

Basically I'm looking for a thin, portable 1070 laptop with TB3. I would be using if for on set editing and fast data transfer, so would need a fast connection (TB3) and a fast GPU for editing. I know Gigabyte have a thinner 1070, but their lack of TB3 is a real deal breaker.

Edit: - Forgot to mention it would need to be a 4k screen too!

Thanks
Spike

All review samples will be going out after iSeries. We will have a considerable amount on display if you are attending so you can get hands on

For those that are interested, I took a punt on the GT62VR (FHD) and can confirm that it does indeed have a G-Sync panel.

Haven't fully finished setting it up yet. I'm still wading through all the pre-installed stuff...of which there's LOTS.
It's got WinZip on it.....who still uses WinZip?!

I gave up removing the preinstalled bloat in the end. After spending nearly an hour watching uninstall bars I just went for a fresh install instead.

I don't know why OEMs keep putting this stuff on new laptops.

Hows the battery on saver mode and 30% brightness?

I haven't really given the battery a proper test yet. It's been on the charger most of the day while I've been sorting the OS out.

I'll report back when I have.
