* 1.66GHz processor speed.
* 1GB DDR2 RAM.

* 10in screen size.
* Resolution 1024 x 600 pixels.

* 160GB SATA hard drive.

* Intel NM10 graphics.

* Multi card reader.
* 3 USB ports.

* Windows 7 Starter operating system installed.

Dont wanna spend anymore than that really and none of the others have the 450 processor?

i don't have the msi wind...i have the advent 4211b...wich is just a re branded msi wind..( same guts all that )

but for that price its not bad. i have seen them on the net for £340 so yea get it/

i will say they are very good for what they are... i shud know i use one in bed every night. ( no not looking at porn..we some times lol)

i use xp on mine...don't use vista its a complete fail on net books... use win7 or xp.

That is a full 100 quid less than the other pinetrail netbooks and it has wireless N + bluetooth. What is the catch?

I have that model, very useful, mine was £229. The cheaper price is due to the new Pinetrail CPU being less money than the old one as I understand it.

This one has the shorter battery life, its not the 6 cell and it doesn't have the chiclet keyboard (but the one it has is good to type on).

I use it for general net use, basic office apps (I use Sun, but word and excel equivalent), VLC etc. Plays Iplayer smoothly and without hitches, pretty speedy in general.

Windows 7 starter is also surprisingly good in comparison to its big brother (even if changing wallpaper takes a workaround).

For what they are designed for, I find it very good. I might be tempted be a larger battery (you can pick up a 6 cell one if you want to) but I have had 4+ hours out of it on a charge, it has useful power saving features that mean you can max out battery life.

Neatly made, feels pretty robust (though with a regular HDD you wouldn't want to throw it anyway), has been reliable since I got it in December.

ill tell you something i have had a 1080p film rum in vlc player with my netbook. not skippy so was impressed. .....if you get the new msi wind bios you can overclock the atom by 24%...but that allso works on the advent 4211b as they are the same thing.

one more thing my netbook is very nice to type on.

Ppl with these and clones then how would this compare to soething like the ferrari one? Also interested on gfx capabilities compared to ion / ion le.

I need either a laptop or netbook to use on nights with my new job. Batt life is a consideration as some homes I work at you can't use their mains... BUt useability for watching movies / browsing / office work is more important.

OP - sounds a cracking deal!

I Just purchased a Samsung N210. It's a sexy little machine but don't expect expect good graphics from the GMA 3150 on the Atom N150 CPU. Pinetrail is a bit speedier but it's the low power that makes it so good.

hd playback performance is more important than gaming, but it would be nice to run some games at min res / settings.

Well for gods sake get an ion netbook then lol. I'm on Pinetrail and I can confirm it will play some 720p video but not without the odd frame skip.

I looked at the 250 when I was researching what netbook to buy and it was pretty well reviewed on a number of sites, but the keyboard, case style and battery life swung towards the Wind for me. Now its down to £190 though it is a bit of a bargain.

I wanted a Win7 netbook specifically however so that was also a factor; all the 250's I looked at had Vista or XP (some dual booting to Android).

At £50 cheaper than the 130 now (before Xmas they were on a par) it would be worth a look but I must say the MSI is a very well put together and usable machine; I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a netbook for netbook purposes.
