Im picking up a A...nt 4211 tomorrow from a local store, from what i believe its identical other than some minor cosmetics (mainly fancy painted cases) its considerably cheaper than the current guestimated price of the wind so i thought what the hell, its not going to be a main pc nor lappy, but may well have it hooked up to lcd and use instead of main pc for basic, msn, tinernet etc etc. I will add some pics tomorrow as i get it, i guess ill have to black the brand etc off it, but i plan to dismantle out the box lol, got a spare gig and 160gb sata drive.

Looking forward to picking it up

Played with one yesterday...was advertized at £279.99 I think. Good machine but I don't think it'll match what I need a laptop for... willing to spend the extra £300 to get a serious ultraportable.

How did you swing that? I've been calling around for days but as soon as any get in stock they disappear!

There is a quite a burgeoning community of Wind/4211 owners/soon to be owners on a dedicated forum site, I don't know if i can link to it directly but you shouldn't have much trouble finding it (you probably already know about it anyway).

Were you planning on installing a fresh copy of XP on there? The price is fantastic as you say for what is pretty much an identical machine... just need to get rid of the bloatware that is inevitably going to be pre-installed :)

You lucky so and so :P

Popped into another local store i think on mon, they had one on the shelf, had a little fiddle, loved it, what annoyed me was i asked some dumb lass if they had any, took her 10 mins, came back, "yes" i then said well can i have one please, came back another 10 mins "oh sorry we must have sold the last one!!!!"

just checked still have stock and so do a few other local stores, they will flood through soon i suspect

anyway ive been going daily checked tonight online and they had one so ive reserved it to pick up tomorrow, will take a late start and pick up on the way to work.

I have one reserved at my local store, they had stock. Thing is i'm not going to have it as i have changed my mind!

I managed to pick one up for £265(5% discount voucher) when I pre-ordered off the website last week as got sick and tired of waiting for the MSI Wind.
My delivery date got pushed back, so I manage to reserve one in store and pick it up over the weekend. After upgrading the Ram to 1.5gb, updating the bios, I was very impressed, so small I carry it about in my bag everywhere with my mobile broadband dongle.
Now everyone knows that these are rebranded MSI Winds, they are very hard to get hold of. My reorder for the Advent, still turned up even after I had cancelled the online order, so I sold it to my mate as he was unable to get hold of one.

Just picked it up, not been turned on yet :s

soon 2 be 2gb and 160gb hdd, just cloning the hdd now

Great photos Bradmax57... now I'm even more confused over whether to get one of these, an Asus Aspire, an MSI Wind or an Eee. Gah, why is making decisions sometimes so difficult.

Without naming competitors, did you get this from a high street place that makes very bad tv adverts?
