MSI X570 Motherboard Prices

I guess AMD stopped being the cheapest option haha, 500 chips and 700 mobos. Jesus

I know, it's like they only sell one SKU of each, no cheaper ones at all. It's a scandal! Appears there is now choice. Cheaper things for people that want cheap things and expensive things for people that want expensive things.

A B450 Tomahawk with a 3600 would be quite sensible. There will also be B550 boards which I'm sure won't be £700.

I can't afford an X570 Godlike but I don't begrudge those with more money having one. Aspiration not envy is what we need more of in life :)

Update 29.05.2019 16:44 clock
According to MSI, the prices posted on Monday via press release were incorrect. The final prices should be different, but they can not call the manufacturer. At the request of the manufacturer, the editors have removed the allegedly wrong prices for the time being.

I bet they'll be a few revisions to prices before launch given the reception. I can see there are legitimate reasons why X570 motherboards are more expensive to produce but I think there's a bit extra being added to make up for lost revenue elsewhere.

I generally wouldn't mind splurging out for a new generation and technological advancement, But DDR5 should be here soon and PCIe 5.0 should drop soon-ish.

I did wonder about that however I was also reading it may be 2021/22 before we see them. Too long a wait for me. I also reasoned that PCIE 4.0 won't be saturated for years and DDR5 will initially be worse than DDR4 so it may be 2023/24 before it's worth it.

I think an upgrade for me on a 2500K is safe enough, I can upgrade again in about 5 years when PCIE 5.0 and DDR5 have matured a bit.

From 2500k, fair enough. Should be a solid upgrade. Go for it ! :)

If the boards are priced this high may as well wait for the next ThreadRipper as the boards will be around the same price and 16 cores chip will be around the same price.

Motherboards are not AMD's pricing responsibility though.
If you want to buy the Aqua and splash $999 or the Aorus Xtreme & CH8 Formula for $600 is your call.

You can easily get the Taichi, or even the mATX Asrock X570 Pro4 (around $179).

Up to now X370 & X470 had bare bone top motherboard. Right now we see some monstrosities supporting NVME Raid and 15000MB/s.
Some of those boards, are better than the X399 ones!!!!

Very true, high quality motherboards cost money. I'd like an MSI Godlike, I can't afford it so I'll buy a cheaper one. Maybe the MEG ACE if not then the Asrock Taichi. No point being mad that someone makes something you can't afford. Acquire more money or buy cheaper ;)
