I have got vardar f4-120er (2200rpm) pwm fans in my system now, and using the msi command centre to which you can only have 50% lowest settings for case fans ,which is still very loud with the stock entho primo case fans,I want them lower rpm's,but you cant even save a fan profile that loads up with windows,so you have to enter manually every time I boot.

I thought I would try speed fan,but It seems it does not work with my mobo?

I thought speed fan works with every system? Its showing my system and cpu fans percentage, but nothing happens when I try to change settings! am i doing something wrong?

It doesn't work on every board. Worked my Z77 Mpower, didn't work on my Sabertooth Z77.

One oddity I found with the Mpower is I had to turn off all fan control in the bios and utilities for it to work. But once I had it set up it was perfect.

Speedfan initially didn't work with my Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 board, but support for the sensor/controller on my board for some of the fan headers was added a version or two ago, so I can now use it.

While my board wasn't supported, I used the NZXT Grid+ (I use GPU temp to alter my case fans speeds) and it worked pretty nicely for my setup. The downside is all attached fans have to be controlled together, rather than individually, and the minimum speed that could be set was 40%. Not sure if the latter has changed with later CAM software releases, but the former I think is a hardware limitation. Just mentioning as an alternative to Speedfan if the limitations fit in with your intended usage.

NZXT updated the Grid+ with the Grid+ V2. It allows individual channel control and allows fan speeds down to 20% (though what voltage this is is unknown to me as I haven't tested it). I actually bought it as speedfan didn't work on my current board and am very happy with it.

I wish motherboard manufacturers would put in the extra effort to make their fan control software suck less, either through the bios or other software.

I've had issues with both asus and asrock fan software. How hard can it actually be?
