Spotted a few odd things with that page compared to the official ones.
Here is an example official link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937072/en-us
Here is the link we all have: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/Messenger/en
"kb" stands for knowledge base, so why would they change it to "gp"?
The page is referenced by "Messenger/en" rather than some sort of unique page reference like with an official link which uses a knowledge base article number.
When you view ANY page on the official help & support, it changes the title of the tab/window to the article's title. When you view the one we have been linked to, it just says "Help and Support".
Compare it to the official page, where are the "back to the top" links that would appear on a genuine one? Compare it with a genuine page and you'll notice the format is completely off/wrong.
There is also no link to translate the page on the top right.
Lastly, the link to the sign in page has a dodgy URL: http://g.msn.com/5meen_ms/95
Doesn't look very Microsofty to me.
Although I'm sure most us already know it is fake!
http://g.msn.com brings you back to msn.com
Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 SP1 with public instant messaging (IM) connectivity enables IM capabilities between the Windows Live Messenger Service and corporate instant messaging systems. [...] As part of this service enhancement, you must now change the ID you are using for signing into Messenger in order to continue using this service.
Not a scam. Turns out it was a mistake from Microsoft. They said ignore it.

We sincerely apologize, but this was accidentally sent out. If you received this notification today, please ignore it. You will be able to continue to use your current e-mail address, and there is no reason to make any changes.
If you have already clicked the link, there is no harm to you. You should have been told that your “Windows Live ID can’t be changed at this time” because there is no need for the change.
