You no longer need invites for this - just go to:

http://www.msn.co.uk/messengerbeta/Default.asp?MSPSA=1

and click download - you then have to sign in and then accept conditions and then download (you need to use IE rather than firefox on the last page in order for download button to work)

that link didnt work for me for some reason, once i got to the dl page it wouldnt load

Try the link/s through IE. Opera & FF seem to occasionally have trouble with those links for some reason.
