msn messenger remote assistance

Im trying to get MSN messenger remote assistance to work on mine and my aunties computers,we can chat through MSN messenger but when she requests remote assistance and i accept it starts to connect and then i get a message saying cannot connect,we both are on bt yahoo broadband,both have a bt voyager 205 adsl router and both have xp home,if anyone could help i would appreciate loads,thanks.

I may be wrong, but I have always been under the impression that one of you - ie the person helping - needs to have XP Pro.

Dont use it that often, but its a great service, you download a little application to run on the host PC (like your Aunts) and login through the web. Dont have to remember IP's etc and its passworded. Also it doesnt have to run on startup, just when you ask her too.

I've used VNC/logmein/putty/terminal services for ages but I still can never get MSNs or XP's remote assistance working lol.

Quoted for truth. these are the best ways i have found to do any sort of remote assistance.
