MTA:San Andreas - Is it dead? Alternatives?

Ahh MTA, good memories. I didn't play SA:MP much, as it took them a while to add features and stuff - it most mostly deathmatches around the whole of SA filled with idiots.

Only complaints i had with MTA were the occasional hacker that would ruin the race, and also race maps that were full of beginners traps - i absolutely hate that.
 
What a great game :) GTA:SA.
Never played it on PC, only ps2. Had to buy a few copies though as one stopped working (people said it was due to cheats :S?)

Off topic so hope you don't mind me asking, but what is the max resolution for SA on pc?
