Ok thanks...Ive been looking for the past month at second hand but they seem to make as much as new.

So you'd say the stumpjumpers the best out of the three?....i was tempted with the pitch pro as Ive read good reviews.

If your heart is set on a full sus bibe then also have a look at the 2008 Marin Rift Zone on offer at Bikescene, suposed to be very good bikes too.

I think the Voodoo D-Jab's on offer at Halfords are an absolute steal at £1500, for a great spec Titanium frame, HT though, but VERY good trail bikes. I have a singlespeed Voodoo Wanga and the geometry is spot on for singletrack riding.

PITCH - without a doubt. Just get a shorter stem.
Such an amazing bike I couldnt recommend it enough.

Also don't think spec wise it lags behind at all, it's only the brakes on the Pitch that are crap.

I own a pitch pro, cant fault it, but the Stumpy looks a good buy too.

It depends on what you want. My pitch is a lot more agressive and a bit heavier than the stumpy. And with 6" travel its certainly an "all mountain" bike.

If you are doing trails with lots of climbs then I think the stumpy is a good purchase.

But I bloody love my Pitch Pro 09.

Im struggling to find a stumpy 08 in medium which is why im swayed towards the pitch pro.

Hedge,Is the pitch perfectly ok as a XC bike? ..from the pics seen it looks to be a bit short and more suited to freeride...Ive not seen one though only going from the pics.

Id be looking at the medium with me being 5.11"

Also to add...

I would be looking at a Cannondale Prophet aswell mate. Freakin awesome bike that

Where is your local ride? the pitch pro is a good all rounder so long as you can live with the extra weight better on your legs :D

Im 6ft 3 mate, and Ive rode my bike XC on good inclines and over a varied terrain and its perfectly capable :).

I went out riding with my mate who owns a stumpy and i didnt feel like i was hard done by :)

Would you say the Pitch is more of a freedride bike geometry wise rather than XC?

Sorry for all the questions....Just unsure on what to get.

Thanks

Im not experienced enough to know to be honest mate. But compared to my friends stumpy I would say that my bike was more suited to the harsher downhill sections, and his was slightly better on climbs.

Its an "all mountain" bike. Not downhill, not pure XC... its very capable all round and thats what I love about it. Ive never felt that it was inadequate or crap in any stages yet.

If you can try one out you will get the feel for it, and see whether it suits you or not.

Like i say i just love mine :)

I got my 09 for £1068 but i dont think thats doable right now

Ok thanks mate

I think ill go and see a pitch in the flesh....think im pretty much sold on it though after just seeing the review on bike radar

I just took a glimpse in this months MBR magazine and both the Pitch and the Cannondale prophet both scored 10.

I checked out a cannondale prophet in Evans and i must admit, i was very VERY tempted.

Theres something very cool about it. and its less common than specialized :D
