Much Of A Jump?!

Hey guys thinking of doing a couple of upgrades as it's that time of year again when I get the upgrade itch, but will I see much of a jump (for games) going from my i7 2700k and GTX 680 to a Haswell i7-4770K and a GTX 780?

It's not worth the upgrade.

Instead do you have a nice case? SSD? monitor?

Agreed, can always spend elsewhere. Nice keyboard, ect...

Not worth it IMO.

Look at getting something like an SSD if you don't already have one.

hmm probably not the cpu but the 780 is a decent step up. 780 and titan are very close

Thanks for the honesty guys, think I'll wait a few months then! I could do with a new wireless headset and a new monitor (preferably 1920x1080) though. Any recommendations?

Don't do it as you'll be disappointed! I upgraded from an i5 2500 to an i5 3570K and didn't notice any real world performance gains (just slightly higher temps :rolleyes:

)! I pretty much got the 3570k for free though so i'm not really bothered

I'll be skipping Haswell as it offers no benefits to me whatsoever! I'm still using an old Biostar TH67XE mobo (H67 chipset) in my main PC and it has everything i need including SATA III, USB 3.0. PCIe 3.0 etc... It's been a rock solid board and i don't really feel the need to change it yet

Sorry, not much in the know.

I suppose these new fangled 120Hz monitors, maybe even a 27'' 1440p monitor, a 680 should be able to drive that.

Jump to GTX 780 only, if your games stutter here and there which I doubt in FullHD

Otherwise leave it.
