Mugabe dead

You could argue he's a product of western meddling though?

Mugabe takes over one of the most prosperous states in Africa from a white minority govement turns it into a failed state in a few decades .....

Usual suspects.... 'its whiteys fault thought isn't it?'

If you think colonialism is solely a 'white' phenomenon in the south of Africa (not just the country but the wider area) look up the 'Mfecane'.

Aren’t the Chinese quietly colonising parts of East Africa?
Nope. Not colonising, or quietly.

[...] Zambian politician Michael Sata [...] before being elected President of Zambia in 2011 [...] wrote a paper presented to Harvard University in 2007 that said “European colonial exploitation in comparison to Chinese exploitation appears benign, because even though the commercial exploitation was just as bad, the colonial agents also invested in social and economic infrastructure services Chinese investment, on the other hand, is focused on taking out of Africa as much as can be taken out, without any regard to the welfare of the local people.” (quoted in Scott D. Taylor’s “The Nature of Chinese Capital in Africa, Current History, May 2018, p. 197)

To some extent, you're probably right. Certainly, these strongmen taking over the former colonies was a result of British actions. It's kind of self selecting when you have freedom fighters moving on to high office that they might not necessarily be psychologically ideal for the task.
