What's the point in choosing resolution over textures, tessellation and effects? You're just going to be polishing a turd. Surely it would be best to find a middle ground?
I have a 4K monitor, so either I run it at 4K native or stretch 1080p across 28".
In most of the games I've tried, 1080p looks pretty terrible no matter the game settings.
1440p would probably be better for me in terms of gaming, but for desktop work I love having the 4K.
