For a while now I've been gaming with either my PC headset or 2.1 Pair, and my 360 is hooked up to my Viewsonic VX2260WM via HDMI (PC via DVI). I've been using either my Tritton pair of headphones or the crappy monitor speakers for this.

My question is, without the use of an amp- is there any way for me to unify my PC and 360 to this single 2.1 speaker system (3.5mm connection) without having to constantly unplug and plug extension leads from the back of my monitor?

Just get a 3.5mm splitter, I would have thought. The monitor does have a 3.5mm out jack to connect external speakers, I take it?

You would need a different splitter to the norm though. Normally, it's 1 jack and 2 sockets, you would need 2 jacks and 1 socket.

Balls, dunno why I didn't think of that. Cheers. Don't think I've come across many that are long enough, but could possibly remedy that with an extension.

i would personally suggest the plantronics speaker switcher from the jungle website , flick a switch and the input changes from pc to console and vice versa. Its how i have my ps3 wired up with my pc to my speakers. With a splitter at least the one i used you get a dip in power so everything needs to be turned up.

Hmm only £8 not bad, so how do the connections actually work? Is it 3.5mm line from monitor and speakers to the switch? Picture of it's rather confusing since it doesn't show much.

the output of the switcher is 2 3,5mm cables one for mic and one for front speaker , ive got mine set up so the front speaker cable goes into the input for my speakers and have my tv's headphone out connected to the headphones in of the switcher. Not sure completely how it works but i flip the switch to headphone and i get tv output , flip it again and its pc

Hmm just got it and it doesn't seem to do the trick, problem is it's got 2 outputs on it so it seems like it either switches to my PC speakers or it looks for another output. Could you send me a picture or something to show how you've set it up?
I've got speakers and mic in one and the monitor in the other, don't understand how you could get em working when they're both output ports :S

i have the headphone output of my monitor going into the headphone socket on the switcher via a 3.5mm male to male plug (?) and then the output from my soundcard (front audio) connected to the speaker output via a 3.5mm male to male plug. Then i have the 3.5mm front audio connector from the switcher plugged into the front audio connection on my sub, without knowing what speakers you are using i cant advise you on how to connect yours up but from what i can tell ive simply reversed the switcher using the outputs as inputs and vice versa
