Ok so I recently managed to crack the display on the centre console of a customers ds3 2016. Needless to say she went spare.

I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone before. I literally applied minimum pressure when wiping it. Hell I put more force on my monitor when cleaning it and yet this thing broke like a piece of dry bark!

Are French cars that bad?

It was probably already damaged (Like when a massive crack suddenly appears on a windscreen after an overnight sharp frost)

But you would have a hard time making that argument.

This is what I thought because there is just no way it should have broken like that. Even so we have to pay for a new console because I don't think the plastic cover would be sold as a separate unit.

Yea trim on 2016 cars breaks all the time.

No, but the owner might well have given it a whack at some point. The trouble is, you will never know (Well, not unless you are prepared to undergo a proper investigation) and even then it would be hard to prove exactly when the damage occurred.

As you say, trim shouldn't break simply from being wiped over so the implication is that it must have been given a somewhat harder whack at some point. Either by the owner, or Lokken is not telling us the full story! :p

I am inclined to suspect the former!

Honestly that's what happened. I'm not afraid to admit when I **** up but in this case I really didn't. I haven't been doing this job long so I'm making a point of being super careful not to damage peoples stuff.
