After looking at the tft picture thread im wanting to look into a multi monitor setup. Either 2 or 3 and i want them to look like one monitor.

I am running an overclocked GTX580 and an i7 2600k at 4.5ghz.

My pc is pretty much a gaming rig if thats important?

Basically with the above setup would it be best go for a dual setup or triple?

Also apart from monitors what else is needed?

Will fps be effected a lot with new resolution, will games still max out?

Or do you think something like one 2560x1440 27" monitor? If not which monitors would you go for the multi setup?

Thanks Dave

some people on here might say that would prefer a large montior to multi monitor im on the fence about it to be honest 3 monitors pc more juice id say lol...

Hi there, with current nvidia cards like the GTX 580 the only way you can run three monitors is by running two cards in SLI (or running a second independent card, but this won't allow you to game with three monitors).

If you do go down this route - then yes the resolution does heavily affect the framerate and you will have to reduce some of the settings to run three 1080p monitors in modern games - even with GTX 580 SLI.

Personally I would go for a single, high quality, high resolution over multiple smaller, lower quality monitors, but people who play games regularly on multi-monitors may disagree.

not done gaming for a while but like my dual U2311H setup. Loads of space, however i wouldnt knock back a 30" IPS panel if the bank balance allowed.
