Hi,

I've just ordered a 'Dell S2716DG 27" 2560x1440 TN G-Sync 144Hz Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor' from OCUK.

I've a Asus GeForce GTX 1080 Strix waiting to run it, and before it has arrived I'm already thinking of "What next?"

Looking at 3 screen gaming set up in future.

Questions:

1) (I think the answer is no, but I'll ask anyway) Is it possible to use my old 1080p in a multi monitor set up? Picking up a 2nd 1080p be left and right screens.

The better question:

2) Can I mix and match any 2560x1440 panels in a three monitor set up? Maybe with cheaper panels left and right. Non-G-Sync. Would I need to match refresh rate?

Three identical screens is the obvious answer, I was wondering if I could use cheaper alternatives left and right. Anyone done anything similar?

Ok, so as I'm writing this I'm coming up with more questions...

Such as, does the monitor I've ordered allow for Display Port Daisy Chain (it says 1 DP in the desc), is that the recommended way to link monitors?

Ha ha, I'll stop there otherwise I'll carryon for ever.

Its a good game this pc building!!

Thanks in advance

S

1) Yes, most, if not all monitors will be able to be used in a setup, as an example I have a 4k screen on my right alongside that same Dell.

2) As with the above example the 4k is NOT Gsync

Limitations with Screen resolutions and multi monitor setups are almost always dictated by the quality of your graphics card, not so much the screen itself.
