Multi-touch driven computer screen for a future gaming?

Imagine "Wii" of the future with such technology.
I hope in 10 years I can have a gaming room with screen like that and games to suit.
What do you think?
 
looks similar to the way the iPhone is using its touch screen.
Hope we see some interesting games on the iPhone using the screen like that.

I honestly don't know if it will become a big thing though. Trying to think how a DS would scale.
 
It could be, if it catches on. I don't think it's uses for games is enough to make enough people buy them. If there was a good way to get them into people's homes then yes it could be big for gaming.
 
yeah is cool but really would it work for gaming I'm not sure.

I mean if you have tried to play totem pole on the 360 witht he vision cam your arms ache after a while so for any serious session i don't think so.

It would suit RTS /MMO's well, but FPS's i'm not sure it all depends on how accurate and quick it can be. But as a technology demo it is well cool.

But I think it would be at least 10 years plus before we see this sort of thing in the main stream. I mean that unit must be in the region of £50K at a guess.
 
they are using something similar in the apple iPhone, but obviosuly this video shows a screen on a larger scale

i cant see how you could use the technology on games though
 
Give it some years we'll be able to buy our own dimensions, port to them and run around in a big city carring guns and shooting people gta style and then port back home. :)
