Assuming you already have a two-zone system with all the necessary pipe work then yes the second zone only requires a single thermostat. A single 'Extension Kit' controls all the thermostats. Hope that helps.

I only have a single zone at the moment so I guess to create more zones I would need the TVRs from tado?

I think the TVRs would work fine if you only have one zone - they effectively allow you to zone every room individually. Two zones need separate piping / pumps / valves for each zone from what I understand. Luckily our new build had just that!

I may look at getting the TVRs myself at some point but costs are needed elsewhere for now
