Multiplayer FPS

You keep saying that but I'm pretty sure it isn't. Personally I don't think it's worth getting into cod4 now, unless you have a group of friends you can mix with.

bf3 vs cod4

more players every day playing cod4

comp scene bigger better than bf3

dedi servers no lag better bullet reg

which do you think will still be going in next few years = cod 4

so cod 4 is worth getting into as it still has the bigger player base and better suited to comp play. if it wasnt cod 4 id go with csgo

people can knock cod 4 if they want but the numbers back it up. its not the law anyone can play what ever fps they want.

I have to agree, had my pc for 2 weeks now and I've been hammering cod4. Now on Xbox I racked up over 25 days of time played in this game so I'm not new to it, but it does still stand out as a great fps and the best in the franchise.
Pc servers are great on cod4 and I can easily find games with a very low ping and plenty of players. Also got BF3, bad company 2 but I keep playing cod4 because it's still so good.

They are completely different games though, you can't compare them. Battlefield 3 doubles up as a MOAB as well as a FPS. Cod4 is fantastic but it's a very enclosed, fast paced arcade shooter. It's like compared a tiny nugget of gold to a huge bolt of silk.

Still wrong, there is no "best game", it's all up to what everyone likes, it could have only 1000 people playing and someone could have it as their best game.
In as simple a way I can put it, popular does not mean it's good. What it comes down to is you like it a hell of a lot.

You just have to stop sounding as if you actually believe that regardless of all other facts :p

What are the stats for COD4? TF2 is on a daily basis ahead of CS:S and CS:GO.

BF3 has no competive scene thanks to the EA.

Would love to see these "numbers"...

I would still maintain that CS 1.6 is the greatest, widely played, highly-competitive FPS game ever created. CoD4 had, and still has, nothing on that gem of a game.

It's thirteen and a half years old and still has some of the biggest FPS competitions going.

number are easy to find

cs is a great fps but not as easy to get to grips with as newer fps . why i suggested cod 4 ;) there are still massive numbers play cs aswell.

if you wanted to go that route id lay cod 1 or uo and quake every day but they are smaller player base and as said not as easy to learn for a newer player

That easy? Really? I can't find anything...

And CoD 4 is in no way "easy" to get to grips with compared to the likes of the newer CoD or BF series. The new games are pretty much pick a gun, change it's colour and run around holding MOUSE1. At least the older games require at least a bit of thought to play them.

@OP, more food for thought, Planetside 2 is good fun, and is free-to-play as well.

Cod4 is easy Ben, you should know this :p

If you want a great FPS with dedicated servers and community mods, check out MW2. Or, at least, check out FourDeltaOne. I can't go into any more detail here, but check the website forums for info :)

I put far too many hours into that, sniper only lobbies are awesome :D

I just use that really...obviously best to compare at a peak time for any true figures....depending on the market you want to compare. E.g. Right now, early evening in Asia.
