Multiple entries in Device Manager

Hi

Recently (last couple of days) did my first system rebuild (see sig.). All appears to be going reasonably well... But...

On looking in Device Manager / IDE ATA/ATPI Controllers, I see that the entry for the "Primary IDE Channel" and the "Secondary IDE Channel" is repeated three times (IE. there are three entries for each). Question: is this normal? and if not, should I do something about it?

Also... should there not be an entry somewhere in Device Manager for the Sata controller? of which I believe there are two on this board!

Must admit I'm a bit confused.

Alright mikeo!

i think its something to do with the way the disk/sata controllers are set-up in BIOS, not familiar with your board but if you have a snOOp around you should see a page for disk/sata options, like 'enhanced mode' and raid options.

Depending what you set there will effect what the devices are displayed as in device-manager!
