Multiple gfx cards attached to 1 psu

I currently have 3 280x connected to my thermal take tough power 1275w psu..

Trying to add a 4th as the psu advised it supports upto 4 cards.. But it only has 3 dedicated gpu slots.. A couple of the connectors have multiple connectors at 1 end.. Does this allow me to run 2 cards from 1 set of leads??

Or am I missing something??

It's normal for PSU's (especially high output ones) to have twin PCI-E connector cables. They're for using on one GPU with two power connectors (ideally).

Ah at the minute I have 2 connectors to each card but are you saying that 1 cable will power both connections on 1 card?

most likely on 1 strand of cable there will be 2x8pin or 2x6pin+2
so 1 strand of cable for 1 gpu
