Multiple hard drive choice

Hi,

I am looking to upgrade the hard drives in my laptop and computer.

Looking at suggestions please.

SSD for the laptop, Looking at costs, 120GB appears to be the suitable size/price range.

I am looking at getting a suitable backup solution for the computer to store photos etc along with other items.

Is Raid 1 the most suitable solution? 3x matching hard drives? 2x hard drives in a Raid 1 and separate drive as a manual backup solution? Still a little worried that if someone accidentally deletes something there is no fall back with the raid solution. What happens if the raid 'breaks'?

Also looking at a SSD main hard drive for the computer, 240GB in size.

All systems are Sata 2 not 3.

could look for cheap samsung evo;s
or get a couple crucial MX100

samsung 850pro is coming, but not worth it on sata2

2 backups of data is always safer yeh, maybe even online cloud
