Multiple IRP complete requests (stop 44)

I keep getting a BSOD with the above titled error but don't know what driver is causing the problem or if it's even a windows 7 problem. I've since updated my ati cat driver to the latest but it still does it. I get the bluescreen after just turning the wheel of my old thrustmaster racing wheel. The game will freeze up temporarily then it's ok again, and eventually it crashes and bluescreens. I also had a bluescreen a couple of times (not sure if it was the same stop error though, but probably) when playing crysis, but obviously no usb wheel attached for that. So something in my pc is not right. I'm hoping it's not hardware and according to what I read about multiple IRP complete requests, it's usually a driver problem.

Am I right in thinking that windows 7 comes with it's own ati drivers built in and if so, would it be conflicting with the ati drivers I installed?

Definitely sounds like a driver issue if you can reproduce it like that. How did you install the racing wheel and how is it connected to your computer?

The other two blue screen need looking into but worry about that later. Running any overclocks?

Hi. There's no overclocks, just stock. I installed the wheel with the only available and working driver which is a vista 64 driver, this one:

There's no W7 driver for mine, so I'm not positive if this driver is intended to work for my wheel. I have a basic thrustmaster force feedback racing wheel which is this one: http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/1...orce_feedback_racing_wheel_review/index2.html

It's connected via USB. I can't find my power supply so I'm using a uniross power supply from a battery charger. I thought it might be the power supply causing the problem, but the bluescreen kind of indicates a driver problem.

Hmm you might be out of luck then. I'd make sure my chipset drivers were up to date but to be honest I'm not sure if it would make a difference.

The other blue screens I doubt will be related to installing the Ati drivers. Vista/W7 are a lot more robust in they way it handles them. If you get another BSOD (not one you've reproduced with the wheel) then grab the error code.

(I should save this text so I don't have to keep typing it :p)

Have a look in c:\Windows\Minidump for a file created around the time of your crashes and post them here or email me (sig) and I can take a look for you as to what might have caused the crash.

imhidusb is the drivers for your wheel, so it definitely looks like it's the one causing you the problems. Guessing there are no newer driver updates for it? Have you tried different USB slots?

I assime the dx* ones are direct x; have you got the latest update?

Thanks a lot pho! I'll try different usb slots. The drivers I'm using for the wheel are the latest and they're vista 64 drivers. I'm not sure about DX, this is my dxdiag screen. Do I need to download that one you linked and replace mine?

Sorry got delayed. I'm not sure to be honest, there's no harm in trying to update it anyway. Try looking at your video card temperatures when playing a game to make sure they don't get too high as well.

Can you try the wheel on another machine?

I bought another wheel today, so I'll see how that goes. ;)
